Imola Beijing: A Showroom that Redefines Modern Minimalism

The Imola Beijing showroom, designed by Chuanjin Sun, is a two-storied structure that breaks the mold of traditional showrooms. With its dark exterior and vibrant interior, it is a testament to the designer's understanding of the sales process and the importance of circulation in a space.

The Imola showroom stands out with its unique design and use of contrasting colors. The exterior is a dark, armor-like structure that exudes a sense of mystery and elegance. However, it is the interior that truly captivates visitors. The space is adorned with yellow, black, and white, creating a striking visual contrast. The shining yellow breaks the silence of the structure, while the abundance of white, paired with ample lighting, creates an atmosphere of extreme simplicity and elegance.

What sets the Imola showroom apart is its ability to convey the culture and aesthetics of the brand. The yellow bricks, resembling a beam of light, cut through the dark structure, symbolizing Imola's commitment to innovation and creativity. The container window on the first floor showcases Imola's life aesthetics, inviting visitors to explore and experience the brand's unique offerings.

The design of the showroom also takes into consideration the flow of visitors. The bold white stairs, illuminated from the bottom, guide people to the negotiation area on the upper floor. This intentional use of light and space creates a sense of movement and intrigue. The blank-leaving technique, inspired by Chinese painting, is employed to showcase the simplicity and elegance of the brand's products.

The Imola showroom is not just a visual spectacle; it is also a testament to the brand's commitment to quality. As a provider of ceramic products, Imola has utilized its own materials in the design of the showroom, making it an exhibition both inside and out. This integration of materials and design further reinforces the brand's identity and showcases its expertise in the field.

The Imola showroom, with a building area of 538 square meters, was completed in April 2017 and officially opened its doors in December of the same year. The project was a result of extensive research and a deep understanding of the brand's values and products. The challenge was to create a space that not only strengthened the consumers' impression of the brand but also facilitated a smooth sales process.

The Imola Beijing showroom has been recognized for its outstanding design and creativity. It was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category in 2019. This prestigious award acknowledges designs that exemplify resourcefulness, technical skill, and contribute to quality of life improvements.
