Reckitt Benckiser: A Collaborative Workplace Design by Ian Hau - Xlms Limited

A New Hong Kong Office Promoting Collaboration and Well-being

The open plan layout encourages employees to move freely and provides a gathering space for special events. Meeting rooms and scattered seating areas offer spaces to connect. Smaller work areas provide more private, quiet environments. Wan Chai’s unique urban views and sunlight complement lighting and ergonomic height adjustable desks adjust for maximum comfort. Careful acoustic planning ensures that carpets and ceilings absorb sound and open areas are located away from workstations.

This new Hong Kong office for Reckitt Benckiser, designed by Ian Hau - Xlms Limited, is a place where employees can collaborate and excel. Located in the vibrant district of Wan Chai, the design reflects the organization's values of creativity, performance, and hospitality. It promotes employee well-being and facilitates interaction.

The office features distinctive details, such as curved veneer panels and rich floor design elements, that reflect the organization's vibrant brand. These elements not only attract and retain talent in a competitive economy but also create a visually appealing and inspiring workspace.

The design was realized using BIM modeling and ecologically sustainable materials, ensuring both efficiency and environmental consciousness. With an internal area of 290 square meters, the office provides ample space for employees to work, collaborate, and connect.

The open plan layout encourages interaction among employees, fostering a sense of community and teamwork. The various meeting rooms, scattered seating areas, and smaller work areas cater to different work styles and preferences, providing both collaborative and private spaces.

Completed in 2019, this project showcases the expertise and creativity of the design team, including Ian Hau, Leslie Au Yeung, Angela Lui, Max Chen, and Flory Cayboen. Their goal was to create a millennial-friendly workplace that would attract new talent and support the organization's growth.

The design of the Reckitt Benckiser office in Wan Chai, Hong Kong, has been recognized with the Iron A' Design Award in 2021. This prestigious award honors well-designed, practical, and innovative creations that meet professional and industrial requirements. The office's thoughtful layout, use of sustainable materials, and focus on employee well-being contribute to a better working environment.

With its emphasis on collaboration, creativity, and employee well-being, the Reckitt Benckiser office in Wan Chai sets a new standard for workplace design in Hong Kong.
