The Cosmos Side Table stands out from other designs with its use of laminated stone. By utilizing advanced technology, OIA Design Studio has managed to create an ultra-thin and highly resistant marble table top. This innovative approach allows the table to weigh less than 50% of what it would if produced with a traditional 20 mm marble slab.

The table is available in four exquisite marble options: Carrara, Sahara Noir, Graphite, and Eramosa. Each marble brings its own unique character and charm to the design, allowing you to choose the one that best suits your taste and space.

Creating the Cosmos Side Table involves a combination of cutting-edge technology and skilled craftsmanship. The stone is laminated into a 6mm sheet and reinforced with a porcelain layer, resulting in a total thickness of 15mm. CNC machinery is then used to produce the table tops with a half bullnose edge, further reducing the thickness. The feet are meticulously machined and assembled by expert craftsmen, ensuring the highest quality and precision.

Despite its delicate appearance, the Cosmos Side Table is surprisingly sturdy. It can be easily carried by hand, weighing only around 22 kg. This feat is truly remarkable for a stone table, showcasing the ingenuity and innovation behind its design.

The Cosmos Side Table project began in April 2017 in Portugal and was completed in August of the same year. It made its debut at Maison et Objet in September 2017, where it garnered attention and praise. Since then, the design has evolved, with a new version featuring Eramosa marble being showcased at Maison et Objet in January 2018.
