Yi Feng Huang's "Cleaness": A Study in Minimalist Residential Design

Award-Winning Design Emphasizes Simplicity, Light, and the Beauty of Daily Life

Yi Feng Huang's residential house design, "Cleaness", brings a fresh perspective to minimalist design. The project, which won the Silver A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2019, emphasizes the beauty of simplicity, natural light, and the tranquility of daily life.

Yi Feng Huang's design inspiration for "Cleaness" was to put people's life at the forefront, stripping away complex and heavy design elements. Using sketch-like techniques, Huang has returned the living space to its clear essence. The simple line structure and natural wood grain brush strokes allow the clarity and warmth of light to stand out, creating a tranquil and beautiful living environment.

"Cleaness" has unique properties that set it apart from other designs. The study, which Huang describes as a glass box set between the living room and the dining room, allows the living horizon to extend to the outdoors while retaining a sense of privacy. The design enhances the intersection and interaction of life through the penetration of sight and the flow and rendering of light.

The realization of this design was achieved through the teased extension and interlaced arrangement of lines. Large scales of dyed oak skin spread to the wall, floor, and ceiling, hiding the existence of storage space. The study removes the partial wall at both ends of the TV wall, reducing the visual burden of the wall and extending the view of the living room without affecting the privacy of reading and work.

The design specifications of "Cleaness" emphasize a light humanistic lifestyle. Transparent glass is interspersed between solid walls, removing the visual burden of the enclosed space. The tone is based on pure white, and decorative elements and materials are reduced, making the occupant's life the most important theme in this space.

Huang's design research focused on the extension and interlacing of lines, the rich wooden texture and color spread to the wall, floor, and ceiling, and the hidden existence of storage space. The interaction and exchange of light and space bring a warmer, more emotional living atmosphere.

The design challenges of "Cleaness" were met with the use of simple line structure, materials, and clear lighting renderings. The result is a home that exudes warmth and tranquility.

Yi Feng Huang's "Cleaness" is a testament to the power of minimalist design. By removing complicated and heavy design elements, Huang has created a space that emphasizes the clear essence of living. The design, which won the Silver A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2019, is a shining example of the beauty that can be found in simplicity, natural light, and the tranquility of daily life.
