Reimagining Space with the Idea of Diamond

This 52m2 condo presented several challenges, including a lack of natural sunlight and inadequate storage space. The client's requirements included a bath in the bathroom, a guest room, and additional storage. To address these issues, the design team redivided the space, optimizing its use and ensuring every inch was functional.

The design of Calibration stands out with its use of basic raw materials such as marble and quartz, combined with a clean and chilled color palette of white, black, and grey. The addition of golden elements adds a touch of luxury and elegance to the living area.

One of the unique features of Calibration is its ability to accommodate the client's extensive belongings. With 100 pairs of shoes, 5-10 travel cases, and over 150 pieces of clothing, the design needed to provide ample storage while maintaining a visually spacious and elegant look.

The design team achieved this by strategically placing storage along the sides of the corridor and partition walls, optimizing space and minimizing the need for excessive walking areas. By linking relevant spaces next to each other, the design maximized efficiency and saved valuable square footage.

The realization of Calibration involved the use of marble tiles, quartz, tinted glass, lacquer paint, and effect paint. These materials were carefully selected to create a cohesive and harmonious design that reflects the client's lifestyle and preferences.

Completed in Taipei, Taiwan, the Calibration project had a design phase of 1.5 months and a construction period of 3.5 months. Throughout the process, the design team overcame challenges to create a space that not only met the client's requirements but also exceeded expectations in terms of functionality and aesthetics.

Calibration has been recognized for its excellence and innovation, receiving the Iron A' Design Award in 2019 in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category. This prestigious award is given to designs that demonstrate practicality, innovation, and adherence to professional and industrial standards. Calibration's integration of industry best practices and competent technical characteristics contribute to a better world.
