The Harbour 10 HOTEL in Kaohsiung City is a stunning example of hotel interior design that captures the essence of the city's urban scenery and natural beauty. Designed by Yuan-Shih Hsien, this project seamlessly blends emotional shifts with concrete images, creating a space that acquires existential value.

Located next to the Love River, the hotel reflects the vibrant colors of Kaohsiung City onto the glistening water. The changing light of the day brings out a different presence, enchanting the people of this gorgeous city with tenderness and romance. The Harbour 10 HOTEL stands as a witness to the symbol and memory of Kaohsiung City.

The lobby of the hotel harmoniously echoes the facade, with furnishings that blend seamlessly with the marble-adorned space. The simple ceiling design effortlessly complements the lively blue-green tone, creating a modern and calm atmosphere. The visual and dynamic lines of the lobby extend to boast the comfort and polish of a business hotel.

The space spans over a hundred square feet, with the first three floors dedicated to public areas and the remaining floors reserved for guest rooms. The main building materials used include marble, wood, iron parts, mounting, and mirrors. By incorporating Kaohsiung's urban characteristics and representative colors and materials, the space not only boasts a wealth of materials but also carries historical connotations.

The design of the Harbour 10 HOTEL is a testament to the interplay between the new and the past. It absorbs the imaginations and memories of the land, interweaving them into new encounters for those who visit. The elegance of the red brick walls and furniture is revealed under the interplay of light and shadow, while vintage tiles and leather distill the sentiments of time, creating a cultured aura of subtlety and congeniality.

The design team faced several challenges in creating this space. One of the most important design cores was the activation and application of the old space. By preserving the original structure and presenting the space simply and concisely, the team successfully transformed it into a functional and aesthetically pleasing area.

The Glistening Light and View design project started in April 2017 and was completed in September 2018 in Kaohsiung City. It has been recognized for its excellence and creativity, receiving the Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category in 2019. This award acknowledges designs that authenticate experience and resourcefulness, incorporating best practices in art, science, design, and technology.
