The building has a vertical circulation tower that starts from the street/garage level and leads to the second floor, which serves as a gathering area. The open timber pathway on the second floor, coupled with a water garden, offers a welcoming element to the visitors. The earthy color palette used for the interior and exterior spaces allows the house to integrate naturally into the landscape.

Concrete, a common construction material for locals, is used in the construction of the Hanging Villa. The building has been weatherized for maximum protection against the loss of warm and cool air. The use of fiber cement board as an exterior floor finish, an eco-friendly material made of cement and cellulose fiber, reduces the use of solid wood. The villa, with a built area of 983 sqm, is a perfect example of sustainable architecture.

The design of the Hanging Villa is a result of extensive research and survey. The steep terrain and conservatory forest of the site posed challenges that were overcome with careful planning and design. The design took advantage of the beautiful surrounding of the deep valley by rotating different massing to different angles. The building is oriented to take full advantage of the sun's position and is perpendicular to the wind direction to maximize wind entry into the building. The extensive use of glass openings allows natural cross ventilation and maximizes natural light entry into the building.

The building program is intended to gather the big family while giving each member their personal space by providing communal spaces and private spaces. The villa also has an outdoor multi-function area that can be used to host various events.
