Shen Junwei's Innovative Commercial Space Design

Shen Junwei's inspiration for The Fortune Bridge stemmed from the idea of converging floating islands, symbolizing the convergence of every dot and drop of happiness and love. This concept led to the creation of a 100-meter-long bridge filled with graphics of converging floating islands, transforming the space into a net of love, sticking to happiness.

The Fortune Bridge stands out due to its unique multi-space system. It features a central walkway through symmetrical bridge holes on both sides, offering various functions such as daily leisure, festival gourmet street, and cultural activity. This innovative design approach has transformed a pedestrian passage, typically a single-channel traffic function area, into a multi-function space, adding extensive value to the project.

Creating this unique commercial space on a limited traffic line posed a significant challenge. However, Shen Junwei's innovative design approach and clever use of space allowed for the maximization of commercial space. The bridge's open hole design also provides different angles of outdoor scenery while bringing in plenty of natural light to the interior.

The Fortune Bridge was realized using materials such as iron, wood, stone, and terrazzo. The systematic design language ensures that the ceilings, walls, and grounds are unified under general visual signals. The bridge's design also encourages visitors to write down their names and wishes on their own lock and attach it to a special rail, symbolizing the locking of happiness.

Shen Junwei's innovative design was recognized with a Silver A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2019. This prestigious award is given to designs that demonstrate outstanding expertise and innovation, strong technical characteristics, and splendid artistic skill. The Fortune Bridge is indeed a testament to Shen Junwei's remarkable design prowess.
