Yao Xiaobing's Award-Winning Design Elevates Brand Image in a Compact Space

Yao Xiaobing's innovative design for the IRIS Ceramic Store, an Italian import brand, is a testament to the power of interior design in enhancing brand image. Despite the store's small size, Xiaobing's design has successfully created an upscale, inviting space that effectively showcases the brand's products.

Yao Xiaobing's design inspiration for the IRIS Ceramic Store was to create a brand image that matches the temperament of the brand's products. The store, which serves as a tile shop for Italian imports, is composed of three small shops, each serving a different function - exhibition hall A, exhibition hall B, general service desk, and the IRIS business center. The challenge was to improve the brand image within a small space while also addressing the product display and sales links of cross-store mode.

The unique properties of the IRIS Ceramic Store design lie in its ability to create a sense of value for the brand within a small space. The senior sense of space is mainly expressed with gray, and the decoration is made with golden materials. The inclined frame porch of the entrance has a variable visual effect, enhancing the privacy of the space and attracting passing customers into the store.

The design realization technology used by Yao Xiaobing includes the use of gray to express a senior sense of space and golden materials for decoration. The project covers a total of 276 square meters, with the smallest exhibition hall A covering 72 square meters. The space of exhibition hall B is divided into three parts: exhibition hall, general service desk, and business negotiation room.

The project started in April 2018 in Chengdu and finished in July 2018 in Chengdu. The design research involved new attempts and explorations in terms of space design language skills and new materials. The design challenges included creating an Italian import brand image store that mainly based on sample display, meeting the functions of high-level conference, design area, sales reception, and so on in a small store of only 100 to 200 square meters. The design was awarded Silver in A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2019. The Silver A' Design Award is rewarded to top-of-the-line, creative, and professionally remarkable designs that illustrate outstanding expertise and innovation. These designs, admired for their strong technical characteristics and splendid artistic skill, showcase a remarkable level of excellence and introduce positive feelings, amazement, and wonder.
