The Yanan Tea House takes its name from the former site of Yan'an Hotel, where it is situated. Just like swallows diligently building their nests with mud, the designer envisions this teahouse as a place where people can pursue their dreams and find solace during their journeys.
The project, initiated in Guiyang in 2018 and completed in October 2018, showcases the unique characteristics of the swallow's nest. The teahouse's design embraces the visual imagery of the swallow's nest, creating a space that is both visually striking and inviting.
The Yanan Tea House stands out among other teahouses due to its vibrant red color, symbolizing warmth and hospitality. The color choice is a nod to the teahouse's location and its aim to provide a welcoming space for weary travelers.
Acknowledging the importance of the swallow's nest as a symbol of determination and hard work, the Yanan Tea House embodies these qualities. It serves as a reminder that everyone has their own dreams and aspirations, and this teahouse aims to be a place where people can take a break and rejuvenate before continuing their journey.
The Yanan Tea House has been recognized for its outstanding design and creativity. In 2019, it was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in the Graphics, Illustration, and Visual Communication Design category. This prestigious award honors designs that demonstrate resourcefulness, technical skill, and a commitment to improving the quality of life.
Step into the Yanan Tea House and experience the tranquility and warmth it offers. Let it be a haven where you can pause, reflect, and recharge before embarking on your next adventure.
