TTMM for Fitbit Versa: A Collection of Futuristic Clock Face Apps

Revolutionizing Timekeeping on Fitbit Smartwatches

TTMM clock face apps present time in a futuristic, abstract, and minimal style, turning Fitbit Versa and Fitbit Versa Lite smartwatches into unique time machines.

Designer Albert Salamon has created TTMM, a collection of 40 clock face apps designed specifically for Fitbit Versa and Fitbit Versa Lite smartwatches. This innovative collection offers a fresh take on timekeeping, combining sleek design with advanced functionality.

The inspiration for the TTMM collection comes from a combination of sci-fi movies, electronic music, and the concept behind Tokyo Flash Japan. Salamon drew inspiration from iconic films such as "2001 Space Odyssey," "Blade Runner," and "Interstellar," as well as the album "Computer World" by Kraftwerk.

What sets TTMM apart from other clock face apps is its unique features and customization options. Each clock face has color presets and complications settings that can be controlled through a tap-to-change on-screen feature. Some models even come equipped with additional features such as a stopwatch, timer, alarm, or torch.

One standout clock face in the collection is the Onettmm, which offers 30 different designs in one. This allows users to quickly change between clock faces to suit their mood or style.

All clock faces in the TTMM collection were meticulously designed using Adobe Illustrator, with any necessary bitmap editing done in Adobe Photoshop. The programming was done using the Fitbit SDK in Fitbit Studio software.

Uploading the clock faces to Fitbit Versa is made easy through the TTMM app, available for both Android and iOS. The app allows users to view the designs, read descriptions, purchase and upload clock faces, and create a favorite models list for easy swapping between designs. The user-friendly interface makes customization of the clock face fast and smooth.

The TTMM project started in December 2017 and was completed in March 2019 in Warsaw, Poland. The programming was done in both France and Poland, showcasing the international collaboration behind this innovative design.

Albert Salamon conducted extensive research to ensure the uniqueness and originality of the TTMM collection. He observed the existing clock face market and discovered a lack of original thinking in design, particularly for Fitbit Versa smartwatches. Many available designs were mere imitations of mechanical clocks or replicas of popular brands. Salamon aimed to create a new vision of time, balancing functional design with original form.

One of the main challenges Salamon faced was designing legible fonts for the wrist-sized screen of the Fitbit Versa. He also had to create an intuitive on-screen tap-to-change feature for adjusting display options such as complications or color presets. To save space for graphic icons or descriptions, Salamon developed his own symbols, such as % for battery, . for steps, ... for distance, : for heart rate, * for calories, and + for floors.

The TTMM clock face apps have garnered recognition and accolades, including the prestigious Bronze A' Design Award in Interface, Interaction, and User Experience Design in 2019. This award recognizes designs that demonstrate outstanding creativity, resourcefulness, and technical skills, contributing to improvements in quality of life.

With its futuristic design, advanced functionality, and unique customization options, TTMM for Fitbit Versa is revolutionizing timekeeping on smartwatches. It offers users a personalized and visually stunning way to keep track of time, making the world a better place, one second at a time.
