AB Workspace: A Mobile Cabin Redefining Workspaces

Creating an Innovative Workspace in the Lebanese Countryside

In a bid to transfer the feel of urban development, agility, and high-tech designs into the countryside, designer Ali Bazzi brings us AB Workspace, a unique mobile cabin that redefines workspaces. This modern structure stands out in a fairly rural setting, serving as a new office location for AB Architects, a design firm known for their creativity and innovation.

The AB Workspace cabin is a testament to the firm's commitment to bringing urban development and modern design to remote areas. Situated in a central location between three Lebanese districts, the 22 m2 cabin provides a convenient and accessible workspace for AB Architects' diverse client base.

What sets AB Workspace apart is its ability to seamlessly blend into its surroundings while still maintaining a modern and urban aesthetic. The cabin's steel-framed structure supports the space, with sandwich panels shaping the volume and providing insulation. Framed windows allow natural light to flood the interior, while the rooftop doubles as a terrace, offering a panoramic view of the breathtaking nature.

Efficiency and sustainability were key considerations in the realization of AB Workspace. The cabin was meticulously designed and constructed with high attention to detail. It was delivered on-site via a rollback tow truck and installed with precision using a crane truck. The floor is tiled with porcelain, and the cabin is equipped with solar panels on the roof for energy efficiency.

Inside, the cabin features a metallic office desk, a high-end seating area, a small kitchen, and a toilet. The compact design creates an efficient workspace tailored to the needs of AB Architects. The cabin's mobility allows it to be placed in close contact with clients, fostering collaboration and creativity.

The AB Workspace project was initiated in August 2018 and took a full month to complete. Located on the main highway between three Lebanese districts, it is easily accessible and strategically positioned to serve AB Architects' client base.

AB Architects conducted extensive research to ensure the success of the project. Quantitative and qualitative methods were employed to inform the design strategy, site analysis, construction materials, and various technical aspects. The result is a workspace that embodies luxury, innovation, and functionality.

AB Workspace has been recognized for its excellence in design. It was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in 2019 in the Architecture, Building, and Structure Design category. This prestigious award celebrates designs that demonstrate creativity, resourcefulness, and a commitment to improving quality of life.

With AB Workspace, Ali Bazzi and AB Architects have created a truly unique and innovative workspace. This mobile cabin brings the best of urban design to the countryside, providing a luxurious and functional environment for both designers and clients to collaborate and create.
