Memory Transmitting: A Harmonious Blend of Tradition and Modernity

Tienyu Wu's Award-Winning Design Marries Aesthetic Elegance with Functional Innovation

In the realm of architecture and interior design, the concept of a house extends beyond a mere physical structure. It is a vessel for memories, a canvas for personal expression, and a sanctuary for its inhabitants. Tienyu Wu's design, "Memory Transmitting," embodies this philosophy, creating a unique home that blends traditional materials with modern aesthetics.

The house, constructed from warm solid wood and white bricks, is a testament to Wu's innovative approach to design. The structure of the white bricks adorns the space, creating an exclusive home for the owner. The house conveys the image of a home through wood beams and the staggered stack of white bricks, presenting a warm and elegant aesthetic that connects with the owner's memories.

What sets this design apart is its unique combination of materials and the way they are used to create a sense of warmth and comfort. The house is constructed from Thuja plicata wood, painted stainless steel iron, and granite seamless flooring, each chosen for their aesthetic appeal and durability. The house spans 99 square meters, offering ample space for the owner to enjoy life.

The design process for "Memory Transmitting" was a collaborative effort, involving clear and inspirational discussions and negotiations. The result is a house that not only looks beautiful but also functions effectively, with great storage spaces and a layout that suits the needs of a family.

The project, which started in January 2017 in Taipei, Taiwan, and finished construction in July 2018, utilized an architectural process named BIM (Building Information Modeling). This technology facilitated smooth negotiations with clients and helped in preparing detailed construction drawings to illustrate the design concept.

Despite the challenges posed by the owner's stringent requirements, Wu and his team managed to create a design that met all expectations. The house not only conveys the images of home through its structure but also creates a special atmosphere with the light filtering through the spaces of white bricks. The design also addresses the limitations of the building for air-conditioners and storage spaces, blending the materials with the client's memories to present a warm and elegant aesthetic.

"Memory Transmitting" has been recognized for its exceptional design, winning the Golden A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2019. This prestigious accolade is granted to marvelous, outstanding, and trendsetting creations that reflect the designer's prodigy and wisdom, embodying extraordinary excellence and significantly impacting the world with their desirable characteristics.
