Junda Liu's Award-Winning Design Merges Architecture, Mechanics, and Footwear

The Octopus sneaker draws its inspiration from the architectural structure and mechanical aesthetics, creating a feeling of lightness and protection. The design is reminiscent of a mechanical octopus, offering an interesting twist on conventional footwear design. This innovative approach results in a lightweight sneaker with minimal components, combining a one-piece soft upper and sole, and an environmentally friendly and efficient production process.

The project, which started in America and was completed in China, required a delicate balance between the lightness and hardness of the materials used.
