Transforming the Workspace into a Cinematic Experience

The office space of Fox Film in Taiwan has been transformed into a cinematic experience with the innovative design by Yu Yu Chu. The project, aptly named "Amongst Movies," takes inspiration from the world of film and incorporates it into every aspect of the office's interior.

The design features a double-square spatial arrangement, enhancing dynamic circulation and function. The space is divided into different sections, starting with a grand foyer that sets the tone for the entire office. The middle section serves as a meeting space, while the left side houses an audio-visual room, creating a versatile and engaging workspace.

One of the standout features of the design is the attention to detail in incorporating movie elements throughout the space. The front desk and rear wall of the entrance reception area are transformed into a clapperboard, instantly immersing visitors in the world of cinema. The lighting on the ceiling of the foyer is shaped like a 35mm film negative, creating a captivating visual effect.

The interior of the office is filled with movie shooting objects, paying homage to the roots of film. The space features supervisor offices, office areas, and an exclusive display corridor showcasing film memorabilia. The overall spatial design not only demonstrates a high level of craftsmanship but also reflects the unique characteristics of the movie industry.

The design team faced various challenges in bringing the cinematic vision to life. One of the notable features is the flying negative along the venue, connected to a gigantic film strip on the wall. The film negative frames are specially made to the size of real movie posters, allowing for easy updates of the latest blockbuster movies. This dynamic element keeps the office space fresh and in line with the latest trends in the film industry.

It was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category in 2019.
