Gold Mantis Business School: A Harmonious Blend of Tradition and Modernity

Chunhua Ji's Award-Winning Design Transforms the Educational Space

Chunhua Ji's Gold Mantis Business School, an architectural marvel that seamlessly blends traditional charm with modern aesthetics, has been recognized with the prestigious Silver A' Design Award in 2019. This unique design, inspired by the world-renowned Harvard Business School, aims to create an international, modern, and human-centric space.

Located in the Dushu Lake Campus of Suzhou University, the Gold Mantis Business School is a tribute to the Harvard Business School. The design not only brings an international style to the campus but also outlines the development path of the century-old history and future of the school. The building, with a total floor area of 27,639.42 square meters, integrates classrooms, multi-functional lecture halls, reading rooms, cafes, and restaurants.

The design of the Gold Mantis Business School is a testament to Chunhua Ji's commitment to reshaping, changing, and surpassing traditional design norms. The unique cultural connotation of the school is fully extracted, and the corporate culture and campus culture are organically implanted to create an international, modern, and humanized space design atmosphere.

Chunhua Ji's design approach is people-oriented, green, and cost-effective. The combination of ancient cultural charm and modern fashionable interior decoration is the dominant idea of the design. The designer has made great innovations and integration in the field of technology, material, soft clothing, lighting, and other professional design fields.

One of the unique features of the design is the bold architectural renovation carried out in the aisle. Part of the floor was removed, transforming the original first floor of the aisle into an empty aisle. Walking in front of the broad landing window gives one the feeling of being in Hogwarts Magic College.

The design process was not without its challenges. The project started in January 2013 in Suzhou and was completed in September 2017. The design team, which included Endian Mu, Xiaoyou Zhang, and Yuxia Hua, had to overcome creative, technical, and research challenges to realize this unique design.

In conclusion, Chunhua Ji's Gold Mantis Business School is a perfect example of how modern design can enhance the educational space. The design, which has won the Silver A' Design Award, is a testament to Chunhua Ji's innovative approach and commitment to creating spaces that are international, modern, and human-centric.
