Rainy Day: A Unique Acrylic Painting by Jong Won Park

Exploring the Harmony Between Humans and Future Technology Through Art

Renowned artist Jong Won Park presents 'Rainy Day', an original acrylic painting that explores the harmony between humans and future technology. This unique artwork, inspired by Japanese animation, combines storytelling, lighting, and color schemes to create a captivating visual experience.

Jong Won Park's 'Rainy Day' is a unique acrylic painting on canvas, offering viewers a rich sensory experience through its storytelling, lighting, and color scheme. The painting stands out for its unique properties, including its tangible texture and surface brush strokes, which differentiate it from digital artwork. The painting, which exists as a single piece in the world, cannot be replicated in its entirety, making it a truly unique piece of art.

The painting was inspired by the harmony between humans and robot technology. Park wanted to convey that the future, even with its advanced technology, need not be feared. The visual concept of the painting was influenced by Japanese animation movies like Totoro and other works from the famous Japanese animation company, Studio Ghibli.

'Rainy Day' was created using acrylic paint, various art brushes, and fabric canvas. Despite not having extensive experience with traditional painting, Park was able to leverage his vast experience with digital artwork to create this professional-grade acrylic work. The painting measures 387mm X 287mm, while the overall size with the wood frame is 524mm X 34mm X 424 mm.

The painting was created in Hamburg, Germany, at JC Park Creative Studios. The project spanned from mid-February to mid-March 2018. Park's intention was to improve his traditional painting skills and share his work with a wider audience. He drew inspiration from various Japanese animation movies and art books.

One of the challenges Park faced was distinguishing his work from other art paintings. However, he overcame this by incorporating a strong storytelling element into his work. The painting depicts the relationship between a girl and a robot, set against an Asian style background. The night timeline and natural mood of the painting add an uncanny sensibility to the artwork.

'Rainy Day' was awarded Silver in A' Fine Arts and Art Installation Design Award in 2019. The award is given to top-of-the-line, creative, and professionally remarkable designs that demonstrate outstanding expertise and innovation. The painting is a testament to Park's remarkable level of excellence and his ability to evoke positive feelings, amazement, and wonder through his art.
