Miohca: A Stunning Art Deco Entertainment Space

An Innovative Blend of Tradition and Modernity

The inspiration behind Miohca comes from the designer's desire to extract the beauty of modern Art Deco. The lobby features a giant hair grain stainless steel feather wings, creating a dreamlike and visually impactful focal point. The combination of smallpox fashion and gentle light fixtures adds a touch of traditional charm while maintaining a modern aesthetic. The result is a KTV space that exudes femininity, rock and roll style, and an overall cool and memorable atmosphere.

What sets Miohca apart is its innovative use of color. The color language of the recreational space plays a crucial role in shaping the mood and experience of the guests. The designer applied contrasting colors, such as vibrant titian and simple black, to create a dimensional and mysterious ambiance. The addition of purple adds a fashionable touch, creating an atmosphere that is both stylish and inviting. The geometric combination of wooden wall hangings adds a bright and concise adornment effect, with different color blocks colliding with different materials, creating a visually striking and unique design.

The realization of Miohca involved the use of various materials and technologies. Gold coast marble, hairline pattern stainless steel, neon lights, black bread brick, and light guide plates were all utilized to bring the designer's vision to life. The result is a space that seamlessly blends different textures and materials, creating a visually captivating environment.

With dimensions of 87000mm in width, 40250mm in depth, and 3800mm in height, Miohca spans an impressive 2000 square meters. Its grand scale and attention to detail make it a truly remarkable design.

Miohca is not just a visually stunning space; it also offers a unique interaction with its visitors. Lin Xu's intention was not to create a completely new style but rather to "create the old." This approach allows everything to have the qualification of reincarnation, bringing together 20th-century art and all the beautiful things in the world to create something new. The blend of tradition and modernity, low-key luxury, and gentle dominance harmoniously coexist in this entertainment space.

The Miohca project began in April 2018 and was completed in September 2018 in Tianjin, China. Throughout the design process, the designer conducted surveys to understand the preferences, age groups, and consumption levels of the target audience near the project site. This research helped shape the design and ensure it catered to the needs and tastes of the intended audience.

Miohca faced several challenges during its creation, particularly in meeting the safety requirements for a project located in a shopping mall. However, the designer successfully overcame these challenges, resulting in a space that not only meets safety standards but also offers a visually stunning and immersive experience for its visitors.

Miohca has been recognized for its outstanding design and creativity, receiving the Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category in 2019. This prestigious award acknowledges designs that exhibit strong technical and creative skills while contributing to improvements in quality of life.
