Revolutionizing Urban Parking with Shared P

Shared P is inspired by the growing sharing economy trend, where everything that can be shared will eventually be shared. By leveraging this concept, Shared P enables personal parking space owners to earn parking fees when their spaces are not in use. Through a user-friendly mobile app, owners can easily set their parking spaces as "In Service," making them available for other drivers to find and utilize.

The Shared P design is based on alloy molding technology, resulting in a sleek and durable product. With dimensions of 350mm (width) x 520mm (depth) x 500mm (height), Shared P is compact yet functional.

The interaction with Shared P is simple and efficient. Users can locate available parking spaces through the app, scan the QR code on the Shared P device, park their cars, and once they leave, the billing process automatically stops. To ensure a seamless experience, users are required to pay their parking bills promptly through the app, which is also linked to their personal credit records.

The Shared P project commenced in January 2018 at the LAFA Communal Facility Design Studio and was completed in July 2018 at the National Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center of Industrial Design in LAFA. Throughout the design process, the team faced challenges in finding the perfect balance between functionality and aesthetics. However, after numerous sketches and discussions, they successfully achieved a design that met their objectives.

Shared P has received recognition for its innovative approach to parking space utilization. In 2019, it was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in the Meta, Strategic, and Service Design category. This prestigious award acknowledges designs that demonstrate creativity, resourcefulness, and a commitment to improving quality of life.
