RenyiTong: 3D Circle Connectors

An Innovative and Creative Educational Toy

Inspired by the Tai Chi principle and the Mobius Strip theory, RenyiTong's 3D Circle Connectors are a unique and versatile design that combines art, architecture, and education. With its minimal components, this toy allows users to create a wide range of three-dimensional shapes, fostering creativity and intelligence.

Designed by Chao Yang, RenyiTong draws inspiration from the Tai Chi principle and the Mobius Strip theory. These concepts symbolize the interconnectedness of everything in the world and the continuous cycle of life. Each individual is a unique cycle, and when individuals connect and collaborate, they form a colorful and vibrant world. The 3D Circle Connectors embody this philosophy, using the fewest components to achieve a multitude of looks.

What sets RenyiTong apart is its ability to create complex three-dimensional shapes with just a minimum of six components. Each component can be individually cyclically connected to form a three-dimensional structure. Users can also combine multiple components to build more intricate models, challenging their imagination and problem-solving skills.

The realization of RenyiTong is made possible through 3D printing technology. Using SLA (Stereolithography) printing, the components are accurately and precisely produced, ensuring the highest quality and durability.

RenyiTong comes in various specifications, with each component having different dimensions. The sizes range from 36x13x10 to 184x13x8, offering a wide range of possibilities for creating unique structures.

With its creative and educational nature, RenyiTong serves as an architectural toy, a creative toy, and an educational toy. It challenges users to think outside the box and explore the limitless possibilities of three-dimensional design. By using column holes to connect the components, RenyiTong provides an interactive and engaging experience for users of all ages.

The project for RenyiTong started in Shantou Guangdong on February 10, 2019, and was completed on March 3, 2020. The designer, Chao Yang, conducted extensive research to develop an innovative and creative educational toy that would stimulate the minds of both children and adults. RenyiTong aims to widen the wisdom of its users and encourage them to think critically and creatively.

RenyiTong faced several challenges during its development. The main challenge was to allow individual elements to be combined arbitrarily in three-dimensional space. The designer overcame this challenge by creating components that could be easily connected and mixed to build complex models. The result is a design that offers the fewest challenges and the most suitable combination of components.

The 3D Circle Connectors of RenyiTong are a testament to the designer's ingenuity and innovative thinking. By integrating the Tai Chi theory and the Mobius Strip theory, this design can create different three-dimensional prototypes with a single factor. The possibilities are further expanded with the six commonly-used factors, allowing users to unleash their creativity and explore the world of three-dimensional design.

RenyiTong's unique and groundbreaking design has been recognized with the Bronze A' Design Award in the Toys, Games, and Hobby Products category in 2020. This prestigious award acknowledges designs that demonstrate outstanding creativity, resourcefulness, and technical skills. RenyiTong contributes to the improvement of quality of life by providing a fun and educational experience that inspires imagination and fosters intelligence.
