Scrumbs sets itself apart by prioritizing simplicity and style, offering a seamless and enjoyable user experience. The project's main objective was to create a useful tool that not only looks good but also feels great to use on a day-to-day basis. By combining functionality with aesthetics, Scrumbs aims to revolutionize the way Scrum Masters manage their teams.
Utilizing software such as Sketch, Invision, Realtimeboard, DSM (Design System Manager), and Photoshop, Ignacz brought Scrumbs to life. The front-end implementation was realized using HTML, CSS, and Javascript, ensuring compatibility across multiple platforms, including mobile devices, browsers, and desktops.
Scrumbs allows Scrum Masters to easily track daily stand-up meetings and monitor the development process. The application enables users to mark and create impediments and blockers, which can be seamlessly integrated with other task management tools used by the team. Additionally, the reports feature empowers Scrum Masters to track and compare the development activity of team members, identifying trends and optimizing the development process.
The project, which commenced in October 2018, involved a six-week period dedicated to developing the user interface, website, and responsive designs. Throughout the process, Ignacz conducted extensive research, including competitor analysis and interviews with Scrum Masters. The findings revealed that existing tools fell short of user expectations, with complexity being a major pain point. In response, Scrumbs was designed to provide a simple and intuitive solution that effectively addresses a specific set of problems.
One of the significant challenges faced during the design process was creating a management tool that was visually appealing and enjoyable to use. Management tools are often perceived as dull and anxiety-inducing. Ignacz overcame this challenge by striking a balance between seriousness and playfulness in the design. The predominantly white theme, complemented by small saturated accents, creates a clean and fresh feel. To add visual interest, a spectrum of grays in the form of shapes and gradients was introduced. The limited color palette ensures that important features stand out, maximizing their impact.
Scrumbs has received recognition for its outstanding design. In 2019, it was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in the Information Technologies category. This prestigious accolade is bestowed upon well-designed, practical, and innovative creations that meet professional and industrial requirements. Scrumbs' integration of industry best practices and competent technical characteristics contributes to a better world by providing fulfillment and positive experiences.
With Scrumbs, Scrum Masters can finally enjoy a management tool that combines functionality, style, and ease of use. Ignacz's innovative approach to agile management has the potential to transform the way teams collaborate and achieve their goals.
