Art Installation Redefines Shopping Experience at K11

Blue Mount and K11 Collaborate on Award-Winning Visual Merchandising Art Installation

The installation was conceived as part of K11's 10th-anniversary celebrations and the revamp of its Tsim Sha Tsui location. The design draws inspiration from the art of optical illusion, offering viewers a new perspective from various angles. The installation not only intrigues the eyes but also engages the mind, reflecting K11's commitment to evolving with the rapid-paced culture of art, design, and innovation.

"In Art We Live" embodies K11's core values of "Art, People, Nature" through its design and materials. The structure, finished with oak veneers, represents nature, while the reflective stainless steel showcases symbolize people. The message of the installation encapsulates the concept of art. The design's unique properties include an infinity effect created by LED flexible neon lights, regular and single-way mirrors inside the showcases.

The LED lights are programmed to change colors throughout the day, adding an interactive element to the installation. This ever-changing visual merchandising tool is designed to attract viewers and enhance their shopping experience. The installation measures 2500mm in width, 1200mm in depth, and 1800mm in height.

The project was installed in November 2018 and is expected to be on display for about two years. The creative direction for the project was provided by K11 in collaboration with Blue Mount. The installation serves as both a visual merchandising display and an art piece, bringing fine arts into a retail environment for the public to enjoy.

The Silver A' Design Award is given to designs that demonstrate outstanding expertise and innovation. "In Art We Live" was recognized for its strong technical characteristics and splendid artistic skill, showcasing a remarkable level of excellence and introducing positive feelings, amazement, and wonder.
