Elham Mirzapour's Black Box: A Portable Bluetooth Speaker with a Twist

The Black Box, designed by Elham Mirzapour, is a portable Bluetooth speaker that is truly one-of-a-kind. The design inspiration came from waveforms, resulting in two distinct speakers - one representing a positive wave shape and the other a negative wave shape. When not in use, these two speakers come together to form a mysterious black box, piquing the curiosity of anyone who sees it.

What sets this speaker apart from others is its portability, lightness, and small size. The speaker is easy to use, connecting to other electronic devices such as mobiles and computers via Bluetooth to play sound. It also features battery sharing, adding to its user-friendly appeal. The speaker's body is made of matte plastic, with touch-sensitive buttons for easy control. The dual speakers have a thin layer of conductivity at the edge, allowing them to automatically charge each other when not in use and placed on top of each other. Each speaker measures 70 mm x 70 mm x 35 mm, and when not in use, they come together to form a small black box measuring 70 mm x 70 mm x 70 mm. Weighing just 60 grams each, or a total of 120 grams, this speaker is light enough to carry around with ease.

The Black Box project started in May 2018 and was completed in February 2019 in Tabriz, Iran. Mirzapour's design process involved extensive research on various waveforms, which she then simplified and used as inspiration for the speaker's design.
