Moulin Rouge: A UI Design Inspired by Iconic Parisian Nightlife

Yuri Lee's Award-Winning Interface Brings the Moulin Rouge to Mobile Devices

Lee's inspiration for this project was drawn from the 2001 film, Moulin Rouge, and her personal travel experiences in Paris. The Moulin Rouge, located near Montmartre, is a beloved tourist attraction known for its musical dance entertainment. Lee's design aims to capture the mood of the Moulin Rouge for those who have never had the opportunity to visit in person.

What sets this design apart from others is its unique color scheme and user-friendly interface. The design utilizes dark blue and red tones, reminiscent of the Moulin Rouge's nightlife, and is designed to reduce eyestrain for users. It offers a customizable design preset and complications, including the menu screen, lock screen, contact list, and icons, all of which can be adjusted with a simple tap on the screen.

The Moulin Rouge Galaxy Theme was designed using Adobe Illustrator and Theme Editor, with all images edited in Adobe Photoshop. This responsive mobile UI/UX design is specifically tailored for Galaxy smartphones. Lee's design process involved extensive market research and analysis of customer preferences in mobile phone UI/UX design, taking into account factors such as age, gender, and nationality.

One of the main challenges Lee faced during the design process was visualizing the mood of the Moulin Rouge in a way that was both attractive and user-friendly. The design needed to be simple and easy to use, while also reflecting the social and cultural value of the Moulin Rouge. The result is a design that not only satisfies various user preferences but also offers an improved digital experience.

Copyrights for the Moulin Rouge Galaxy Theme belong to Yuri Lee, who completed the project between December 2017 and May 2018 in Seoul, South Korea. This design is intended for those who wish to personalize their mobile devices with a Moulin Rouge theme, even if they have never visited the actual location in Paris.
