Arch-Hermit's Award-Winning Design Transforms Campsite Experience

Arch-Hermit, a renowned design team, drew inspiration from the original terrain height difference for the Tibetan Eagle project. The design ensures that all buildings, from the lakeside to the G318, are elevated and do not obstruct each other. The main building's appearance, shaped by the terrain, resembles an eagle spreading its wings near the lake shore, hence the name 'Tibetan Eagle'.

The unique location of the campsite, beside the dreamland Ranwu Lake, makes it an ideal stop for self-drive travelers to enjoy the beautiful scenery. The campsite's terrain slopes gently, offering a spectacular field of view. The site is adorned with green grass, ancient trees, green pine trees, and azalea floating clouds, adding to its natural charm.

Arch-Hermit's design approach prioritizes environmental protection and local culture. The buildings' main colors are white and red, preferred by Tibetans, creating a warm and extraordinary living space. The materials used include white cement-fiber plates, red weather-resisting steel plates, thick transparent glass, dark gray steel, local woods, and local pebbles. The project also utilized assembled steel structure for the buildings, minimizing the impact on the land and its neighboring environment.

The project faced numerous challenges, including the camp's high altitude, harsh climate, and poor visibility from the National Highway 318. However, Arch-Hermit overcame these obstacles and transformed the neglected land into a beautiful campsite. The main building of the integrated service center extends about 80 meters along the G318's horizontal line, ensuring the best view of the lake.

The Tibetan Eagle project started in April 2009 in Ranwu Town, Tibet, and was completed in August 2010. The project was awarded the Golden A' Architecture, Building and Structure Design Award in 2020, a testament to its outstanding design and impact on the world of architecture.
