Madam Platinum: A Sophisticated and Safe Senior Home

Elegance, Safety, and Comfort Combine in this Unique Residence

This project, designed by Wen Yin Chen, is a testament to the creative concept of a comfortable yet tasteful residence with modern aesthetics. The design team seamlessly integrated preventive facilities into the interior, making them invisible to the eye. This approach allows the inhabitants to enjoy a comfortable life while transforming the interior into a favorite gathering space for families and children of different generations.

The interior design of Madam Platinum spans approximately 93 square meters and includes a living room, dining area, kitchen, study, and three bedrooms with two bathrooms. The use of masonry materials, tiles, nano stone, wall fabric, metal work, and silicone showcases the designer's attention to detail and commitment to quality.

One of the standout features of Madam Platinum is the wall-like partitioning technique used to create an independent entrance area with storage functions. Additionally, a row of extended bench seating from the dining area serves as both seating and storage for shoes. The originally oppressive structural columns have been transformed into visually pleasing elements through the use of lighting strips, chamfer, and decorative items.

The project was completed in December 2018 in Hsinchu City, Taiwan. Throughout the design process, the team conducted extensive research on the changing needs and expectations of senior citizens. By incorporating environmentally friendly building materials, Madam Platinum not only achieves an elegant aesthetic but also promotes a happy and healthy living environment.

Designing a senior retirement home that caters to the preferences of both male and female clients presented a unique challenge. The design team spent over a year studying the changes faced by senior citizens in their everyday lives and psychologically. This research was then translated into design details that prioritize safety, liveliness, and unconventional spatial planning.

Madam Platinum is a testament to the elegance and serenity that epitomize the spatiality of the interior, reflecting the personal traits and future expectations of the retired couple who call it home. This unique residence combines comfort, taste, and safety, concealing preventive facilities while maintaining a refreshing visual aesthetic. It has become a beloved gathering space for the entire family, spanning multiple generations.

Madam Platinum was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category in 2020. This prestigious accolade recognizes the outstanding creativity and ingenuity of the design, as well as its contribution to improving the quality of life. Wen Yin Chen's design exhibits strong technical and creative skills, incorporating best practices in art, science, design, and technology.
