Borgio Verezzi: A New Dawn in Residential Architecture

Alberto Torres' Award-Winning Design Revolutionizes Urban Living

Alberto Torres' Borgio Verezzi, a residential building in Caxias do Sul, Brazil, redefines urban living with its unique design and innovative features. This Golden A' Design Award winner is a testament to the power of daring architecture and the pursuit of originality.

The inspiration for Borgio Verezzi stemmed from the desire to cater to a specific audience: those who value social interaction, innovation, and design in their living spaces. The building's unique properties lie in its volumetric structure - a vast vertical monolith with suppressed volumes at its corners, housing expansive balconies. These balconies are strategically designed for optimal viewing and sunlight exposure.

Quality and finish were paramount in the realization of this design. The building features ceramic tiles, granites, apparent concrete, and double glasses in the facades and other areas. The residential building spans twenty-two floors, with one apartment per floor. Each apartment boasts 280.00 square meters of private area, all with four suites. The social area, consisting of an entrance hall, a large living room, gourmet space, and balcony, covers more than 110.00 square meters.

The Borgio Verezzi is not just a residential building; it's an experience. It encourages energy efficiency, conscious consumption of water, thermal acoustic comfort, correct discharge, and recycling. The design team, including Torres Arquitetos, Y Design, and Exacta Engenharia, worked tirelessly to ensure that the building reflects a sober and contemporary architecture.

The project, currently under construction, is located in Caxias do Sul, a town in the State of Rio Grande do Sul, in the extreme south of Brazil. The choice for a differentiated residential product was a conviction of the developer and the architectural firm since its earliest studies. The building is a dialogue with art and local plastic artists, surprising and daring in every detail.

The Borgio Verezzi faced numerous challenges during its conception. The goal was to create a building that wasn't an obvious product to be launched. All alternatives presented risks and opportunities, creating a vital challenge to distinguish itself from the existing market and the products offered by other companies. Despite these challenges, the Borgio Verezzi emerged victorious, winning the Golden A' Architecture, Building and Structure Design Award in 2020, a testament to its marvelous, outstanding, and trendsetting design.
