Milwaukee Redstick: A Revolution in Digital Level Design

Platinum A' Design Award Winner Redefines Box Level Technology

In an era where innovation is key, the Milwaukee Redstick Digital Level, designed by Tactile and Milwaukee Tool Design Teams, has made a significant leap. Leaving behind the traditional spirit vial level, this design introduces an all-digital system, revolutionizing the way professionals measure and interact with levels.

For decades, digital box levels have been built with the same segmented display design, offering no significant change to the technology. The Milwaukee Redstick Digital Level, however, breaks this mold. It is one of the first mainstream box level products to have only digital feedback. The Redstick digital levels are the most accurate levels on the market, featuring an innovative and user-friendly interface. The well-designed circular display is easy to read from both the side and the top.

The Redstick Digital Level uses Milwaukee’s latest measurement technology, offering accuracy up to three one-hundredths of a degree. The Pinpoint high-resolution screen and advanced electronics allow users to view and interact with measurements that follow the screen movement a full 360 degrees. Users also have the option to select how they want those measurements displayed and can change the sensitivity of the mode selected.

One of the unique features of the Redstick Digital Level is the Pinpoint measurement technology. This offers new capabilities that further simplify dialing in measurements on the jobsite, such as a unique pin mode. This mode allows users to lock in exact measurements, clearly guiding them towards their measurement through advanced readouts.

The design process of the Redstick Digital Level was not without its challenges. The transition from analog to digital came with issues such as power consumption. The design team had to explore creative solutions to reduce power consumption through input via sensors and gestures. However, the end result is a product that can keep up with its analog counterpart while offering superior features and functionality.

The Milwaukee Redstick Digital Level was designed in February 2018 in Seattle, Washington, USA and was produced in February 2019 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA. It was awarded Platinum in A' Hardware, Power and Hand Tools Design Award in 2020, recognizing its world-class, exceptional, and highly innovative design that contributes to societal wellbeing.

In conclusion, the Milwaukee Redstick Digital Level is a testament to the power of innovation and design. It not only redefines the way professionals use levels but also sets a new standard for digital level design. With its unique features and user-friendly interface, it is no surprise that this design has been recognized with such a prestigious award.
