Furious 140: A Unique Villa for Exclusive Living

A Modern, Artistic, and Personalized Living Space

As Edith Wharton's novel "The Age of Innocence" defined the upper-class lifestyle of New York in the late 1980s, artistic taste, home style, and proper social etiquette became synonymous with a unique lifestyle. Inspired by this, designer Robin Wang presents Furious 140, a villa that encapsulates the exclusive living space and refined taste of the elite.

The villa, designed by Robin Wang, is a testament to the modern metropolis style. Its interior spaces are dominated by geometric lines and soft tones, adorned with modern artwork that creates a contemporary living atmosphere. The design seamlessly connects the three above-ground floors and two underground floors, catering to the diverse living habits and needs of its residents.

Constructed using natural materials and featuring borrowed scenery, Furious 140 is an exclusive villa that combines the essence of art and residence. Italian modern furniture adds a touch of sophistication, while the personalized underground spaces provide a unique experience.

This private villa, spanning five floors and covering a total area of 4,219 square feet, was specifically designed for a motorcycle enthusiast. The three above-ground floors serve as living spaces, while the two underground floors are dedicated to fulfilling the resident's lifestyle and hosting social gatherings.

Furious 140 is located in the Jinwan area of Zhuhai city, Guangdong province, and the design project took place from October 20th, 2018, to May 1st, 2019. During the design process, the team conducted extensive research, interviewing over ten motorcycle enthusiasts to understand their dream house. This research led to the decision to design the basement floor as a social gathering lounge and a collection room for their beloved bikes.

The main challenge faced by the design team was creating different life scenes for different individuals within this five-story building, while ensuring seamless interaction between the floors and avoiding conflicting movement lines.

In Furious 140, the designer intentionally downplays the presence of a specific design style. Instead, they analyzed the aesthetic possibilities based on the customer group, resulting in a unique residential space. This themed villa, catering to motorcycle enthusiasts, breaks away from the conventional concept of a sample villa. The basement space serves as a display area for the owner's collection and a social hub for like-minded friends, effectively addressing the issue of natural lighting in underground areas.

This remarkable design, credited to Robin Wang and Sunny Wang, was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category in 2020. The award recognizes designs that demonstrate outstanding creativity and resourcefulness, incorporating best practices in art, science, design, and technology. These designs contribute to improving the quality of life and making the world a better place.
