Vibes: A Refreshing Office Lobby and Cafeteria Design

Revitalizing the Workspace with Clean and Fluid Vibes

The Vibes office renovation project, designed by Daisuke Nagatomo and Minnie Jan, brings a fresh and dynamic atmosphere to the workplace. Inspired by the flow of digital information, this design aims to renew the company's identity and elevate its brand value.

To differentiate itself from other technology companies in Hsinchu, Taiwan, the design team reevaluated the concept of branding and corporate identity. By incorporating a clean and fluid feeling, Vibes breaks away from the traditional heavy image associated with the industry, presenting a new impression of technology in the current era. The use of Syntec Blue as an accent color adds a touch of fashion and activates the corporate image.

The design of Vibes utilizes a combination of materials such as glass, stone, ceramics, and wood for the interior finishes. In the lobby area, digitally milled wood louvers create a visually striking impression, symbolizing the energetic vibes of the company. The basement cafeteria, on the other hand, embraces a warmer and more natural ambiance with its use of wood surfaces.

Spanning across three floors, the Vibes design covers a total area of 2,001 square meters. The first floor occupies 676 square meters, the second floor covers 425 square meters, and the basement encompasses 900 square meters.

The Vibes office space encourages interaction and communication among employees. The open space between the ground level and the second floor allows for seamless collaboration, while the lobby entrance creates a strong brand image and leaves a lasting impression on visitors. The cafeteria, with its clear view of the courtyard, provides a comfortable dining experience for employees during their lunch breaks.

The Vibes project began in September 2017 and was completed in January 2018. Construction took place between 2018 and 2019, with the grand opening occurring in July 2019. Throughout the design process, the team focused on showcasing the potential of utilizing the existing structure to meet the company's current needs and establish a higher brand value.

Overcoming the challenge of understanding the old structure and exploring the possibilities for a new design was a significant hurdle for the team. However, their efforts paid off, resulting in a space that embodies fluidity and movement through the clever use of lighting and the overall atmosphere.

The Vibes office lobby and cafeteria design has garnered recognition and acclaim. In 2020, it was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category. This prestigious award is given to well-designed, practical, and innovative creations that meet professional and industrial requirements, contributing to a better world.

Experience the refreshing and vibrant atmosphere of Vibes, where creativity and productivity thrive, and the boundaries of traditional office design are pushed to new heights.
