Purity: A Delicate Wood Cabin on the Hillside

Unveiling the Allure of Nature and Simplicity

Life on the undisturbed hill, veiled in the fog, is calm and delightful. The house, on the hill, is decorated with the delicate textures of different woods that are built into the roof, walls, stairs, and railings. The wood cabin, on the lush hillside, with the white walls is exclusively appealing.

The cabin, aptly named Purity, designed by Steve Lyu, stands as a testament to the harmonious blend of nature and simplicity. With its unique features and meticulous craftsmanship, this small cabin offers a serene retreat for those seeking solace amidst the beauty of the natural world.

One of the standout features of Purity is its two-building structure. The front building, elevated on stilts, houses a parking lot underneath, providing a seamless integration with the surrounding environment. From here, residents and visitors can enjoy breathtaking views of the natural sceneries that unfold before them.

The back building, adorned with lush plants, creates a vibrant and invigorating atmosphere. The thriving trees and mountain ridges, in different distances, seamlessly blend as a part of the cabin, blurring the boundaries between the interior and exterior spaces.

Inside the cabin, the design continues to impress. The indoor space is furnished with delicate fair-faced concrete walls and tatamis, creating a poetic and Zen ambiance. The wooden stair treads and red brick walls add a touch of unsophisticated dynamics, showcasing the designer's keen eye for material aesthetics.

The craftsmanship applied to the ceilings, walls, and floors is truly remarkable. The contrasting elements and reconciliations between different materials create a captivating visual experience. The innovative use of lines and curves, right angles and arcs, ingredients and senses, purity and complexity, all contribute to the classic and distinguishing outlines of multiple materials, making this cabin a true masterpiece of interior design.

Located in Hsinchu, Taiwan, the Purity cabin project was completed on the 10th of February. Its technical specifications boast a property size of 129 square meters, providing ample space for residents to immerse themselves in the tranquility of their surroundings.

Recognized for its outstanding design, Purity was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category in 2020. This prestigious accolade is bestowed upon designs that demonstrate creativity, resourcefulness, and a commitment to improving the quality of life through art, science, design, and technology.

With its unique blend of natural elements, minimalist aesthetics, and meticulous craftsmanship, Purity stands as a testament to the power of design to create spaces that inspire and uplift the human spirit.
