A Unique Design for Precise Pouring

There is no doubt that our daily diet cannot exist without liquid foodstuff and seasoning such as olive oil. However, it’s hard for people to control the dosage in usage, since the pouring speed of the liquid is difficult to be controlled due to the original container mouth, which is very easy to pour an excess of seasoning, leading to the waste of it. At present, Xie Feng, a renowned designer, has come up with a solution by designing a new type of container, which makes a diamond groove at the mouth of the container.

A bottle with a groove at the mouth can be used to hold olive oil and other edible liquids, which can be used by people in more aspects and can easily control the pouring amount. This design addresses the issue of excessive pouring and wastage, especially for the elderly who need to control their diet every day for better health. With low cost and easy production, this innovative oil bottle provides a practical solution.

Because the bottle mouth has a guide groove, it is convenient to pour olive oil. The oil flows out of the groove, allowing for better control of the amount of food. The product has its own function, making it very convenient for daily use. It can be used directly after purchase from the supermarket, reducing the need for additional pouring aids. The bottle can be made from plastic or glass, providing options for different preferences and needs.

The design team, consisting of Xie Feng, Husha, Zhujie, Xiexindong, Liminghui, Qinjiaying, Houjunyi, Zhanghongyu, and Lizhixian, faced challenges in determining the reasonable size of the bottle and the dimensions, angle, and depth of the groove. Through meticulous analysis and continuous demonstration, they arrived at a well-designed solution. 3D printing technology was utilized to overcome these challenges and bring the design to life.

The Diamonds oil bottle project started in September 2019 in Changsha and was completed in October 2019. The team conducted extensive research to understand the need for a container that allows for precise pouring and portion control. The diamond groove design was the result of this research, providing an effective solution to the problem.

This innovative design has been recognized for its excellence and practicality. It was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in 2020 in the Packaging Design category. This prestigious award is given to designs that meet professional and industrial requirements, integrating best practices and technical characteristics. The Diamonds oil bottle stands out for its ability to enhance user experience and contribute to a better world.
