Simple New Fashion: Redefining Office Spaces with American Industrial Style

Creating a Relaxing and Inspiring Workspace

The spatial design emphasizes creativity and ideal unity, injecting designer Jia Ru Chen's emotional distribution to create a space that is limited in view but endless in meaning. By fusing emotions and scenes, this design guides the experiencer to an imaginative spatial state, transforming work into a relaxing and leisurely romantic experience.

Removing the gloomy and oppressive spatial ambiance of traditional offices, the Simple New Fashion project deviates from the past and embraces an American industrial style. The focus is on conveying spatial fashion sentiment and vision, using rational thoughts to create interior design and a unique spatial ambiance.

Organizing the spatial rhythm and order through the adjustment and overlapping of virtual and realistic relationships, this design project creates a trend-setting and visually impressive workspace. With a property size of 198 square meters, the space is carefully crafted to optimize functionality and aesthetics.

The large windows provide employees with stunning views, while the design eliminates strong colors and sophisticated decorations in favor of low-chroma spatial decorations. This approach guides a sense of purity into everyday life. The space features partition designs from the lobby to the bar area, replacing exposed ceilings with iron grids or exposed floor slabs. This showcases industrial elements such as pipelines and coarse cement, fully embracing the industrial style.

In the lobby, a single sofa is placed in a corner, cleverly camouflaging the distribution board with a curtain. This design choice adds a touch of gentleness, coarseness, and unrestrained sentiment. The arrangement of stable base color tones and well-executed lines creates a simple yet comfortable space, reminiscent of a café. The furnishing and mellow atmosphere within the space accentuate the comfort and relaxation, connecting various spatial areas to create a visually pleasing and calming environment.

The Simple New Fashion project was completed in August 2019 and is located in Hsinchu City, Taiwan. The design team, led by Jia Ru Chen, overcame challenges in structuring the simple space amidst well-executed lines. The result is a workspace that embraces a leisurely and comfortable atmosphere, enhancing the daily experience for employees.

This innovative design has been recognized for its excellence and creativity. It was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in 2020 in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category. This prestigious award is bestowed upon outstanding and creatively ingenious designs that authenticate experience and resourcefulness. The Simple New Fashion project showcases strong technical and creative skills, contributing to improvements in the quality of life and making the world a better place.
