Many people desire to have plants in their homes or offices, but the challenges of caring for them without agricultural knowledge can be overwhelming. The iPlant was born out of the designers' concern for the difficulties faced by untrained individuals in nurturing plants. Recognizing the benefits of plant care, such as a more delicate environment, fresher air, increased oxygen levels, and a healthier psychological atmosphere, Maleki and Mohseni set out to create an intelligent solution.

What sets the iPlant apart is its innovative water supply embedded system, which ensures plants can thrive for up to a month. The intelligent irrigation system provides the necessary water directly to the roots, addressing concerns about water consumption. Additionally, smart sensors monitor soil nutrient composition, moisture levels, and other factors that affect plant health. These sensors compare the data with standard levels and send notifications to the iPlant mobile application, allowing users to stay informed about their plant's well-being.

The iPlant utilizes cutting-edge technology, including IoT connectivity, Wi-Fi, and intelligent sensors. These components work together seamlessly to create an intuitive and user-friendly experience. The embedded sensors can be configured to monitor different types of plants, ensuring optimal care for each individual species.

During the design process, Maleki and Mohseni faced the challenge of finding suitable sensors for monitoring plant growth factors and integrating them into the pot. However, their perseverance paid off, resulting in a design that revolutionizes plant care.

The iPlant project began in Tehran, Iran, in March 2019 and was completed in May 2019. The designers conducted extensive research on plant care, recognizing the need for a solution that would simplify the process for individuals without agricultural expertise.

The iPlant has received recognition for its innovative design. It was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in the Futuristic Design category in 2020. This prestigious award is given to designs that meet professional and industrial requirements, integrating industry best practices and competent technical characteristics. The iPlant's practicality, innovation, and contribution to a better world were acknowledged by the awarding committee.
