Scandinavian Inspired Design Wins Silver A' Furniture Design Award

The inspiration for Osker originated from Pelgrims' preference for Scandinavian seating furniture. Initially, he intended to design a fully upholstered low armchair. However, after repeatedly visualizing the design, he realized that the chair deserved to be "undressed". As a result, Osker was created using visible structures in combination with separate leather seat cushions.

Osker is not just an armchair; it's an invitation to sit back and relax. With its pronounced and curved design, it boasts distinctive characteristics such as perfectly crafted timber joineries, leather armrests, and cushioning. The use of high-quality materials like leather and solid wood ensures a contemporary and timeless design.

The realization of Osker required a detailed 3D model for the production process. This model was crucial in shaping elements like the legs and backrest using a CNC machine. The most challenging aspect of the design was creating connections in the round parts.

Despite the challenges, Pelgrims successfully converted his design into an actual product. During the prototyping process, he had to make changes to the design to ensure strength and stability. The project, which started in September 2019 and ended in January 2020, was carried out in Antwerp.

Osker's unique design and high-quality craftsmanship have not gone unnoticed. The armchair was awarded Silver in the A' Furniture Design Award in 2020. This prestigious award is given to top-of-the-line, creative, and professionally remarkable designs that exhibit outstanding expertise and innovation.
