Yunlong Ren's Huxi Villa: A Modern Take on Neoclassical Design

Health-Inspired Design Merges Nature with Urban Style

Yunlong Ren, a renowned interior designer, has transformed a neoclassical villa into a modern marvel. His design, inspired by the simple elements of sunlight, air, and water, aims to create a space that promotes a healthy, relaxed lifestyle. The Huxi Villa, a Silver A' Design Award winner, stands as a testament to Ren's innovative approach to design.

The Huxi Villa, located in Wuxi, is a bold attempt to redefine neoclassical design with a modern twist. The designer's unique insight allowed him to break free from the constraints of the original architectural style and introduce elements of modern urban life. The result is a living space that combines the tranquility of nature with the coolness of urban style.

Ren's design philosophy is rooted in his understanding of health and well-being. He believes that after a busy day, people crave a return to simplicity and a break from the noise of the city. This belief guided his design for the Huxi Villa, where he created a warm and comfortable family atmosphere with a simple yet sophisticated visual effect.

The villa is a technical marvel, featuring natural color, gray marble, raw granite, black stainless steel frame, and black wooden door cover. The stairs employ new technologies such as stainless steel glass and LED. The bathroom and western kitchen have been designed with a moisture-proof wooden top surface, ensuring both beauty and practicality. The TV wall, made of granite stone and stainless steel, perfectly solves the problem of triangle window curtain.

The Huxi Villa covers an area of 800 square meters, divided into three floors, each with multiple functional rooms. The design incorporates the health concept of sunshine, air, and water, with arched doors and windows transformed into triangular ones to increase natural light and introduce fresh air. The minimalist design of each functional space, combined with modern interior design, reflects a modern and simple living quality.

The project, which started in October 2017 and was completed in December 2018, faced the challenge of transforming a neoclassical style house into a modern residence. Ren's innovative approach to design allowed him to overcome this challenge, integrating elements of modern urban life to create a natural and cool living space. His design for the Huxi Villa was awarded Silver in the A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2020, a testament to his outstanding expertise and innovation.
