Larisa Zolotova drew inspiration from the 19th-century restoration of the Victoria Calvatone statue, where wings were added to the broken pieces found in the village of Calvatone in Lombardy. The 3D visualization brings the statue to The Hermitage Museum, set in a Roman courtyard, capturing the essence of its Roman origins and the victory of Marcus Aurelius and Lucius Verus over barbarian tribes.
The unique strength of this design lies in its realistic representation of the bronze statue, showcasing the aging metal and conservation stage. The intricate research conducted ensures historical accuracy, making it a significant monument of world culture.
The realization of this design involved scanning the statue and utilizing 3D animation, modeling, simulation, and rendering software. Geomagic Design and Zbrush were used for sculpting and rendering, while Photoshop contributed to the creation of interior images. Filmora aided in video editing, resulting in a captivating visual experience.
Displayed on screens, the 3D visualization immediately captivates viewers with its lifelike image of the Victoria Calvatone Statue. The CAD model, textured with precision, is accompanied by numerous renders and video files, enhancing the overall experience.
The Hermitage Museum served as the location for this project, which took place from August to September 2019. The research and restoration process behind the Victoria Calvatone statue served as the foundation for this groundbreaking 3D visualization.
This exceptional design was recognized with the Bronze A' Design Award in 2020, in the category of Computer Graphics, 3D Modeling, Texturing, and Rendering. The award celebrates designs that exhibit technical and creative excellence, contributing to improvements in quality of life.
