Woonwaard's rebranding was inspired by its mission to offer sustainable and inclusive housing solutions. The association, which operates without a profit motive, offers a large number of social housing units. In 2019, Woonwaard earned the title of the most sustainable housing association in the Netherlands, a testament to its dedication to environmental responsibility.
The rebranding process was designed to reflect Woonwaard's identity as a modern, serious, and calm organization. The new brand identity also highlights the diversity of the tenants and the positive aspects of renting. This was achieved through a unique brand identification program, which used a set of more than 250 circles in different compositions and colors to create a balanced basic design.
The rebranding project was realized using sustainable resources, including FSC certified materials and digital applications, in line with Woonwaard's commitment to environmental sustainability. The organization believes that it should set a good example in its daily operations, given its strong presence in the lives of many tenants.
The rebranding project, which took place over 3-4 months in the Amsterdam region, has been well received by both the client and its employees, as well as the tenants. The project has also won global recognition, earning the Golden A' Design Award for its innovative approach to rebranding.
Despite the challenges of balancing the dual character of being solid and stable, and also being active and progressive, the rebranding project successfully covered both aspects in the overall corporate identity. The result is a unique colorful identity system, which plays an important role for the diversity and inclusiveness of its tenants.
