Viveria D2502: A Minimalistic and Contemporary Apartment Design

Designing Spaces with Individual Identity in a Joint Family Setting

Being a joint family of six people, the clients' brief was to design a four-bedroom apartment that caters to the specific needs of each individual member. The challenge was to create spaces that are user-friendly for different age groups while maintaining a cohesive design aesthetic. Architect Naved Patel, the principal architect at Architect Naved Designs, took on this project with an intent to calibrate the brief with meticulous planning and designing.

Each room in the Viveria D2502 apartment is defined by encompassing architectural details, materials, and color schemes. The hallway and living room cleverly camouflage the doors with different panel designs, creating a minimalist look with a fusion of allure and luxury. The monotony is broken with patterned flooring and reflective mirrored surfaces, adding visual interest to the space. Noteworthy design elements include hand-textured marble walls and a semi-open see-through sliding partition in the master bedroom. The cavernous bedrooms are adorned with eccentric graphical bedside units, geometric hanging lights, and a combination of deep colors and clear textures, creating a timeless and stylish ambiance.

The realization of this design involved the use of various materials and technologies. Notably, black and white CNC laser-cut design patterns were incorporated in the bed back and living room, while leather cladding was applied to walls, ceilings, and wardrobe shutters. Metal engraving on veneer surfaces and furniture items added a fusion of styles and timeless design standards. The apartment also features automated lighting and H.V.A.C systems, enhancing efficiency, performance, and sustainability.

The Viveria D2502 apartment spans 200 sq.mtrs and includes a living space, three en-suite bedrooms, a guest room, kitchen, and powder toilet. Located in Mumbai, India, the project commenced in January 2019 and was completed in December 2019. The design team, led by Architect Naved Patel, meticulously researched and analyzed a wide range of materials before selecting the appropriate combination for each space. The result is a harmonious blend of materials that contribute to the overall aesthetic and functionality of the apartment.

This exceptional design has been recognized with the prestigious Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category in 2021. The award acknowledges the outstanding creativity and ingenuity demonstrated in this design, which authentically combines experience and resourcefulness. Architect Naved Patel's meticulous attention to detail, technical expertise, and incorporation of best practices in art, science, design, and technology have contributed to the quality of life improvements offered by the Viveria D2502 apartment.
