The Nagrada is not just an award; it's a testament to a player's skill and progress in the game of chess. The design features two flat figures, a queen and a pawn, which are slotted together to form a single cup. This innovative design allows for easy disassembly and packaging, making it ideal for delivery to winners worldwide.
The award is crafted from stainless steel, a material known for its durability and elegance. The manufacturing process involves waterjet cutting, manual grinding, and polishing. If desired, the surface of the award can be customized with color, graphics, and inscriptions, adding a personal touch to the victory.
The Nagrada project began in March 2020 and concluded in May 2020 in Tolyatti. The design team, led by Art Director Igor Dydykin, included Project Manager Lyudmila Sapalova, Model-maker Sergey Grekov, and Product Photographer Anzelika Dydykina. Their collective efforts resulted in a design that is not only functional but also aesthetically pleasing.
In recognition of its creativity and innovation, the Nagrada was awarded Silver in the A' Design Award, Trophy, Prize, and Competition Design Award in 2021. This prestigious accolade is bestowed upon designs that demonstrate outstanding expertise, innovation, and artistic skill.
Ultimately, the Nagrada is more than just a trophy; it's a symbol of perseverance, strategy, and victory in the face of adversity. It serves as a reminder that even in times of isolation, the human spirit remains resilient and the desire for self-improvement persists.
