Sustainable Architecture

Residential Design by Kaiti Chang - Kaifeng

Started from scratch, the design team created a comfortable living environment based on the client's social status and family's daily habits. The design incorporates sustainable elements to promote a greener lifestyle.

The residential design by Kaiti Chang - Kaifeng showcases a unique approach to sustainable architecture. The design team prioritized the client's needs and lifestyle, creating a comfortable living space that reflects their social status and daily habits. One standout feature is the sliding door in the dining area, which is adorned with a large world map. This allows the client to record the places they have traveled to, adding a personal touch to the space.

What sets this design apart is its simplicity and cleanliness. The design team opted for a minimalist approach, reducing unused ornaments and focusing on a combination of black, white, and wood tones. This creates a relaxing and modern residence for the client. The kitchen, living room, and dining room are effectively divided, with a half-open kitchen that seamlessly integrates with the other living areas.

In terms of materials, the design team carefully selected high-quality and environmentally friendly options. The use of aluminum light bars, laser engraved metal plates, coral paint, imported wood grain bricks, marble, mirror surfaces, and iron pieces adds a touch of sophistication to the design. The client's familiarity and appreciation for building materials, being in the construction industry, played a significant role in the selection process.

The design spans approximately 198 square meters and includes a layout configuration comprising a living room, dining room, kitchen, study room, three bedrooms, and four bathrooms. This ensures that the design meets the client's functional needs while maintaining a stylish aesthetic.

The design team also prioritized the client's interaction and well-being. They incorporated a flexible space behind the living room sofa to accommodate the client's daily exercise and fitness habits. Additionally, the door configuration of the master bedroom was readjusted to improve the overall living quality and circulation within the residence. Fire protection equipment was also added to the semi-open kitchen to ensure a safe living environment.

The project was completed in November 2019 in Taipei, Taiwan. Throughout the design process, the team conducted extensive research to create an elegant and monochromatic space. The use of laser cutting engraved metal plates, marble walls, imported floor tiles, and other materials contributed to the modern and warm home environment. The open design of the public area, along with the floor-to-ceiling windows, visually enlarges the spatial scale and creates a natural and comfortable atmosphere.

This exceptional design was recognized with an Iron A' Design Award in 2021. The award acknowledges well-designed, practical, and innovative creations that meet professional and industrial requirements. The residential design by Kaiti Chang - Kaifeng exemplifies these qualities, providing fulfillment and positive feelings while contributing to a better world.
