This poster, created by designer Wang Pu, is a unique fusion of modern design and ancient Chinese painting. It explores the expression of flat graphics to delve into the artistic conception of Chinese landscape painting through modern bitmap design.
The design measures 70X100cm and was realized through the process of printing. It is a visually creative expression that challenges traditional design norms.
Wang Pu started this project in Beijing in April 2017 and completed it in August 2017. The poster was later exhibited in Beijing in April 2019.
"The Empty Landscape" serves as a reminder of the importance of sustainable cities. While the rapid development of the Internet has brought advancements to our lives, it has also taken away much. By incorporating modern design elements and expressing the artistic conception of Chinese landscape painting, this poster aims to raise awareness about the need for a sustainable future city.
This design has received recognition and acclaim, winning the Bronze A' Design Award in the Graphics, Illustration, and Visual Communication Design category in 2021. The award acknowledges designs that demonstrate outstanding creativity and resourcefulness, incorporating best practices in art, science, design, and technology. "The Empty Landscape" contributes to improving the quality of life and making the world a better place.
