Dingxin Tea Garden: A Harmonious Blend of Nature, Culture, and Commerce

Creating a Secluded Paradise in Chongqing

Inspired by the environment, regional culture, and the connotation of tea culture, Yiping Yu and Shuangwu He have designed Dingxin Tea Garden to embody the idea of "unity of nature and human beings" and the essence of Chinese gardens. This commercial project integrates the elements of mountain, water, and tea to form a space with unique life characteristics, resulting in the most fascinating scenery of tea fields.

With the design principles of ecology and harmony, Dingxin Tea Garden goes beyond mere aesthetic perception. It seamlessly integrates science, ecology, and commerce, making it the first tea industrial complex in Chongqing. The project presents a natural temperament of lightness with distance and fragrance with freshness, offering a secluded paradise with breathtaking natural scenery for visitors.

The design of Dingxin Tea Garden is realized through a combination of innovative techniques and careful consideration of the local environment. The architecture is built along water systems, with different water landscapes connecting and enhancing the overall experience. The shape and landform of the mountain where the architecture is located are respected and integrated into the design, ensuring that each building offers an excellent view. The concept of "unity of nature and human beings" is reflected in the traditional Chinese style of the architecture, with mountain yards and courtyards embedded into the design to bring people closer to nature. The landscape architecture of the garden, with its blue flagstone roads and waterside pavilions, creates a complete space system that harmonizes with the surrounding natural beauty.

The adaptation to local conditions is a key focus of the design. Efforts have been made to conform to the rise and fall of the mountains, preserving the original terrain and natural landscapes. The architecture is strategically placed to take advantage of elevation differences, ensuring that every building offers an exceptional view. The overall layout of the tea garden seems scattered, but it is centered around water, creating a cohesive effect that draws visitors towards the central waterscape. The yards, with their different forms, serve as the main places for appreciating and experiencing the landscape, providing a clear and orderly flow from viewing to experiencing. As night falls, the play of light and shadow brings the architecture to life, creating a serene and peaceful atmosphere.

Dingxin Tea Garden offers a unique experience for visitors. It allows them to immerse themselves in the beauty of nature, pick and taste tea, climb the tea mountain, and stroll through the tea fields. The verdant greenery and authentic pastoral life provide a refreshing escape from the hustle and bustle of city living.

The project was completed in March 2018 in Ersheng Town, Chongqing, covering an area of approximately 24,200 square meters. Dingxin Tea Garden has gained popularity on social networks and has become a famous site for people to take photos in Chongqing.

This exceptional design has been recognized with the Iron A' Design Award in the Landscape Planning and Garden Design category in 2021. The award acknowledges the project's well-designed, practical, and innovative nature, meeting professional and industrial requirements. Dingxin Tea Garden stands as a testament to the integration of industry best practices, competent technical characteristics, and a commitment to creating a better world.
