In order to enhance students' ability to distinguish and build resilience against bullying, Zero Bully Campus incorporates virtual simulation and immersive situational teaching. By engaging bystanders, victims, and perpetrators, the game fosters health literacy, positive coping strategies, and psychological recovery.
The game is designed to be accessible on various platforms, including Windows PC, macOS, iOS, and Android devices. It is developed using Unity, Photoshop, and Illustrator, ensuring a seamless and visually captivating experience.
With a screen resolution of 1920 pixels by 1080 pixels, Zero Bully Campus offers a visually stunning and engaging interface for players.
Zero Bully Campus stands out from other anti-bullying initiatives due to its unique approach of combining game-based learning with real-life scenarios. By transforming the campus environment into a digital space, students can learn and practice how to provide assistance and prevent bullying events. The game also emphasizes the importance of cooperation among players to effectively address bullying incidents.
The project was initiated in Taiwan in January 2020 and has since been implemented at Xiamen University in China. To evaluate its effectiveness, a pre-test questionnaire was conducted among two groups: the intervention group, which received two weeks of training and game-based learning, and the control group. The short-term and long-term effects of the Zero Bully Campus project were assessed through post-intervention evaluations.
The design team faced several challenges during the development process. One major hurdle was ensuring compatibility with different hardware devices, such as Windows, macOS, Android, and iOS. Additionally, effectively conveying their perspectives through visual communication and digital technology required careful consideration. However, the team's efforts paid off, resulting in a successful and impactful learning game.
Zero Bully Campus aims to create a visually expressive and immersive learning experience for students. By integrating visual elements and symbols, the game enhances the communication of bullying events. The design team has strived to establish a simple and consistent learning game experience that effectively conveys the central idea of the project.
Zero Bully Campus is a testament to the collaborative efforts of the design team, including Yi-Cheng Chiang, Chia-Liang Lin, Chun-Yang Lee, Cheng-Wen Hsiao, Hou-An Su, Xin-Lan Cai, Xian Li, Mei-Jie Chu, Shih-Han Chen, and Cheng-Wu Hu. Their dedication and expertise have brought this innovative learning game to life.
Zero Bully Campus has been recognized for its excellence and impact, receiving the Iron A' Design Award in the Education, Teaching Aid, and Training Content Design category in 2021. This prestigious award acknowledges the design's practicality, innovation, and adherence to professional and industrial standards, contributing to a better world.
