Flow of Zen: A Residential House Designed by Ying Chih Yang

Creating a Perfect Living Environment with Marble

With its natural pattern, marble in the interior gives the impression of glamor and elegance, creating the perfect living environment. Using the right combination of elements, marble provides an intellectual feeling and a gentle touch. Different textures and patterns are applied to different walls and floors. The combination of metal and wood allows these natural and rustic elements to present a timeless sophistication and elegance.

Ying Chih Yang, a renowned designer, has created a masterpiece in the form of the Flow of Zen residential house. This unique design incorporates the house owner's favorite element, marble, in various forms and functions throughout the home. The house is situated in a picturesque location, nestled against a mountain and facing the ocean and island, providing a serene and tranquil atmosphere.

The interior design area spans approximately 126 square meters and features a well-thought-out layout. The entrance seamlessly connects to the living room, dining room, kitchen, balcony, and three bedrooms with two bathrooms. The flow of the space is carefully designed to allow light and shadow to permeate every corner, creating a harmonious and inviting ambiance.

One of the standout features of the Flow of Zen house is the extensive use of marble. The natural patterns and textures of marble exude a sense of glamour and elegance, elevating the overall aesthetic of the interior. From walls to floors, marble is incorporated in various forms, adding a touch of sophistication to each space.

Furthermore, the combination of metal and wood elements in the design adds a rustic yet timeless charm. The solid wood teak floor and titanium-plated metal accents create a warm and cozy atmosphere, complementing the luxurious feel of the marble. The careful selection and placement of antique furniture pieces enhance the modern space, providing both comfort and visual appeal.

The bedroom spaces in the Flow of Zen house are designed to evoke a sense of tranquility and relaxation. The soft curved shapes and the use of pure colors and materials create a cozy and serene environment, perfect for a restful night's sleep. The warm lights diffuse from the canopy and facade strip lamps, further enhancing the inviting atmosphere.

Despite the challenges faced during the design process, such as sourcing high-quality antique furniture, Ying Chih Yang successfully created a space that seamlessly blends modernity with timeless elegance. The attention to detail and the incorporation of the house owner's favorite element, marble, make the Flow of Zen house a truly unique and remarkable design.

The Flow of Zen house, completed in September 2020 in Yilan City, Taiwan, has garnered recognition for its outstanding design. It was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category in 2021. This prestigious award is a testament to the well-designed, practical, and innovative nature of the Flow of Zen house, meeting professional and industrial requirements.

Ying Chih Yang's Flow of Zen house is a testament to the power of design to create a perfect living environment. With its seamless integration of marble, metal, and wood, this residential house exudes elegance, sophistication, and a sense of tranquility. It is a true masterpiece that showcases the harmonious blend of art, architecture, and lifestyle.
