Cap Pac: A Revolutionary Sustainable Marketing Tool

Joshua Grant Rayner's Award-Winning Design Combines Functionality and Sustainability

Cap Pac, a unique promotional product designed by Joshua Grant Rayner, is revolutionizing the events marketing landscape. With its sustainable design and multifunctional use, it's a testament to innovative thinking and responsible design.

Rayner's inspiration for Cap Pac came from observing the wastage of promotional materials at events. He envisioned a marketing tool that would not only be useful to consumers but also environmentally friendly. The result is Cap Pac, a sign with two detachable sun visors. Once the visors are removed, the sign doubles as a two-drink carrier, fully utilizing the material and reducing waste.

What sets Cap Pac apart is its sustainability. Each unit is made from either recycled or FSC certified material, printed with chemical-free, VOC-free and waterless ink. The production process takes place in a carbon-neutral factory powered by renewable energy, with zero waste to landfill. Each Cap Pac produced has a net positive impact on the environment and society, a rare feat in the world of promotional products.

The design of Cap Pac is as innovative as its production process. The overall size of the flat product is 465mm (h) x 365mm (w) x 0.6mm (d), with the sign/drinks carrier and sun visors designed for optimal use and comfort. The sun visor peak is 91mm with 8 options for different head sizes between 530mm to 600mm, ensuring a good fit for everyone.

Rayner's design process involved extensive research and consultation with industry experts, brand activation managers, merchandise buyers, and event organizers. The feedback highlighted the need for sustainable and cost-effective promotional products that have a high uptake and repeated use. Cap Pac addresses these needs while also offering a fun and interactive experience for the consumer.

The development of Cap Pac was not without its challenges. Rayner had to ensure that each separate product would fit together, leaving no wasted space. The material also had to be durable enough for repeated use as a drinks carrier, yet flexible enough to form the headband for the sun visors. Despite these challenges, Rayner successfully created a product that is not only functional and sustainable, but also visually appealing and engaging for consumers.

Cap Pac's innovative design and sustainable approach have not gone unnoticed. It was awarded Silver in the A' Advertising, Marketing and Communication Design Award in 2021, a testament to its outstanding expertise and innovation. With its patent pending and copyrights secured, Cap Pac is set to make a significant impact in the world of events marketing.
