Voice of Unity: A Battle Against Epidemic Through Illustrations

Li Mengjia and Huo Kai's Award-Winning Illustration Series Highlights the Spirit of Chinese Culture in Epidemic Prevention

In the face of a global pandemic, Li Mengjia and Huo Kai have created a series of illustrations titled "Voice of Unity". This work, inspired by the collective fight against the epidemic, is a tribute to the people's contribution in this battle. The illustrations, expressed in a national style, highlight the spirit of Chinese culture and the unity in anti-epidemic efforts.

The unique properties of this design lie in its representation of love as a duty and a song of dedication. By using computer drawing software, Li Mengjia and Huo Kai have brought to life a series of illustrations that depict the unified anti-epidemic scene. The illustrations are produced using high-level printing and manufacturing technology to showcase the intricate details and beauty of the artwork.

The design specifications include a printing size of 800mm (H) x 800mm (W) and a data size of 1800mm (H) x 1800mm (W), with a resolution of 300dpi in CMYK. The design tags associated with this project include COVID-19, anti-epidemic, the spirit of China, illustration, and computer painting.

The project, completed in Shenyang, China in 2020, was a result of extensive research. The designers used five idioms combined with vivid pictures to reflect all aspects of epidemic prevention and control. The illustrations creatively display the epidemic prevention scenes, highlighting the Chinese spiritual culture.

The design posed challenges in accurately describing the characteristics of people fighting against the epidemic and combining the illustrations of national tide style with the scenes of characters. However, the designers overcame these challenges, successfully reflecting the Chinese culture and spirit.

The series "Voice of Unity" was awarded Silver in A' Graphics, Illustration and Visual Communication Design Award in 2021. This prestigious award is given to top-of-the-line, creative, and professionally remarkable designs that illustrate outstanding expertise and innovation. The award recognizes designs that showcase a remarkable level of excellence and introduce positive feelings, amazement, and wonder.
