Babies Complementary: Food Pans Suite

Designing Healthy Complementary Foods for Babies

Since babies have low immunity and weak stomach, the cooking utensils and tableware used to make complementary foods should be separated from those of adults to ensure the healthy diet babies. This set of coated non-stick pans is specially designed to make babies' complementary foods with Healthy Complementary Foods as its core to better protect the health babies. The bright-colored and adorable appearance of product endears itself to babies.

The Babies Complementary Food Pans Suite, designed by Xuejiao Ma, is a unique and innovative solution for preparing healthy and nutritious complementary foods for babies. This suite consists of a stockpot and a frying pan, with a cartoon hamster on the lid that echoes the two ears at the end of the handle. The soft lines and bright colors of the design are specifically chosen to appeal to babies, making mealtime a joyful and energetic experience while enhancing their appetite.

One of the key features of this design is the separation of kitchenware and the use of antibacterial materials to ensure the safety and hygiene of both the food and the pans. The suite's 18cm caliber allows for easy stacking or suspension, saving valuable kitchen space. The aluminum alloy pan body is processed using a one-piece die-casting technique, resulting in a rounder shape that perfectly presents and restores the product's design. The magnetic conductive plate at the bottom of the pan allows for use on both induction cookers and open flames.

The internal coating of the pans is made of American Whitford medical stone minerals and antibacterial materials, ensuring that no smoke is generated during use and preserving the original flavors of the food. Additionally, the antibacterial coating prevents the growth of bacteria when the pans are stored away. The ceramic external coating makes cleaning easier and more convenient.

The design also incorporates user-friendly features such as a liquid-diverting outlet with a silica gel platinum ring, creating an airtight environment for thorough simmering of food for easy digestion by babies. By simply turning the lid, air-out can be realized, preventing overflowing. The tempered glass lid allows users to monitor the cooking process, while the liquid-diverting spout in the stockpot facilitates easy pouring-out. The bakelite handle, processed with silicate paint spraying, is high heat-resistant and anti-scald, ensuring user safety and providing a softer touch.

The Babies Complementary Food Pans Suite is the result of extensive research and development. The design team conducted market research to determine the optimal pan diameter for daily cooking needs of complementary food. With babies typically consuming complementary food from 6 months to 2 years old, the internal coating was designed to be thicker, ensuring a long service life that covers this period. The colors were carefully selected to align with children's visual development and appeal to their nature.

The design process presented several challenges that the team successfully overcame. The die-casting technique was chosen to achieve a rounder pan shape, allowing for a more perfect presentation and restoration of the product's form. The abrasive tools were modified multiple times to ensure a close fit between the pan rubber ring and the glass lid, eliminating the need for glue and facilitating easy cleaning. The team also went through multiple design iterations and color selections to achieve a satisfactory result.

The Babies Complementary Food Pans Suite, designed by Xuejiao Ma, has received recognition for its excellence. It was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in the Bakeware, Tableware, Drinkware, and Cookware Design category in 2021. This prestigious award is given to well-designed, practical, and innovative creations that meet professional and industrial requirements. The suite's integration of industry best practices, competent technical characteristics, and contribution to a better world have earned it this accolade.
