2020 WIDC: A Dynamic Fusion of Idea, Intelligence, and Industrial Internet

A Visual Representation of the Future of Industrial Design

The World Industrial Design Conference (WIDC) is an international design event attended by more than 40 countries and regions in the world. It aims to promote the deep fusion of industrial design and economic and social development, and to promote the design exchange and cooperation between countries and regions.

The 2020 World Industrial Design Conference (WIDC 2020), with its theme "Intelligent Design Road to the Future," has explored the unlimited possibilities created by the fusion of design and intelligence. This year's conference has attracted design associations, enterprises, institutions, and colleges from around the world, resulting in fruitful collaborations and achievements.

The key visual for WIDC 2020, created by Xin Tong, the chief designer, is a dynamic combination of the initials of the conference's theme: "idea, intelligence, and industrial Internet." This visual representation extends openly and runs towards the future, symbolizing the fusion of international vision and local wisdom.

The design utilizes the three primary colors (red, green, and blue) as its main colors, with the three "I"s representing the core elements. The fusion of these primary colors generates numerous "I"s, forming a stream of particles flowing into the distance. This imagery signifies the breaking up and regrouping of the world industrial design innovation chain under the influence of the fusion of "idea, intelligence, and industrial Internet," propelling it towards the future.

WIDC 2020 showcased over 1000 new technologies and designs from hundreds of enterprises and institutions, covering 14 fields including high-end equipment, aerospace, and intelligent robots. The conference attracted more than 1000 participants, including design associations, enterprises, institutions, and colleges from over 40 countries and regions worldwide.

The project, led by Xin Tong, started in February 2020 and was completed in November 2020 in Yantai. The key visual was exhibited in Yantai on November 25th, 2020, captivating visitors with its representation of the future of industrial design.

The design concept of WIDC 2020 is inclusive, sustainable, and win-win. By exploring the fusion of design and intelligence, the conference has demonstrated the unlimited possibilities in various areas such as intelligent products, intelligent services, intelligent cities, and intelligent platforms. Design has the power to make industries more dynamic and change the world for the better.

The WIDC 2020 key visual, created by Xin Tong and his team, has received recognition for its creativity and ingenuity. It was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in the Graphics, Illustration, and Visual Communication Design category in 2021. This prestigious award is bestowed upon outstanding designs that showcase technical and creative skills, contributing to improvements in quality of life and making the world a better place.

Through its dynamic representation of the fusion of idea, intelligence, and industrial Internet, the 2020 WIDC key visual encapsulates the essence of the conference and the future of industrial design. It serves as a powerful symbol of the transformative potential of design in shaping a better world.
