Korea Sport Coach Federation: A Unique Branding and Visual Identity Design

Bringing Passion and Dedication to Sports

The heart logo of the Korea Sport Coach Federation (KSCF) draws inspiration from the athlete's euphoria and adrenaline, the coach's dedication and affection for their teams, and the general love for sports.

KSCF, a Korean sports division that brings together experts in the field, including active and former national team players, coaches, and sports team owners, has recently unveiled its new branding and visual identity designed by Yena Choi and Jinha Seo of the B for Brand Creative Team. This unique design showcases the heart and soul of the organization, emphasizing the passion and dedication that drives athletes and coaches to achieve their goals.

The heart logo of KSCF consists of four puzzle pieces: ear, arrow, foot, and heart. Each piece symbolizes an essential aspect of sports. The ear represents listening, highlighting the importance of communication and understanding between athletes and coaches. The arrow symbolizes goal and direction, emphasizing the focus and determination required to succeed. The foot represents ability, signifying the physical prowess and skills of athletes. Finally, the heart symbolizes passion, capturing the love and enthusiasm for sports that drives everyone involved.

What sets this design apart is its ability to bring together different elements, just like athletes and coaches come together to achieve their goals. The puzzle pieces fittingly represent the collaboration and teamwork that is crucial in the world of sports.

The design is not limited to just the logo. KSCF's branding and visual identity extend to various materials, including eco bags and a members' booklet. The eco bags, measuring 30cm x 29cm, feature the heart logo and are printed using digital printing technology to ensure vibrant colors and intricate details. The members' booklet, in A5 size, showcases the heart logo on the cover and back cover, with the inner pages printed on high-quality Scotland and Vent Nouveau paper.

Going beyond print materials, the KSCF logo and visual identity will be applied to banners, books, posters, stationery, and other promotional products for events such as members' forums, marathons, PE activities, and classes. This consistent application of the branding ensures a cohesive and recognizable presence for KSCF.

The design project for KSCF began in August 2019 in Seoul, Korea, and the first logo type and some visual identities were completed in January 2020. The project is still ongoing, with the finalization of Korean typefaces being the current focus. Developing identifiable and unique typefaces in Korean has proven to be a challenge due to the complexity of the language, but the designers are dedicated to creating a cohesive and visually appealing design.

The KSCF branding and visual identity design is a testament to the passion and dedication that drives athletes, coaches, and sports enthusiasts. It captures the essence of sports and the collaborative spirit that brings people together. With its unique puzzle piece logo and consistent application across various materials, KSCF is set to make a lasting impression in the world of sports.
